Off the Wall (at the Apex Hotel)

I visited Off the Wall in between the Christmas and New Year period for lunch with a colleague from work. The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy and given the holiday period.

I had made the booking online and had mentioned in my booking that I was allergic to gluten.  As soon as we sat down (and without me asking) our very friendly waitress pointed out the gluten-free options from the menu (I was impressed!). I ordered from their set lunch menu and had as an entree, the yellow chicory, smoked chicken, tarragon & caramelised walnuts and as a main, the pan-fried fillet of farmed sea bass, crushed new potatoes & sun blush tomato. Both dishes were absolutely delicious!

The only downer was I felt like some dessert afterwards and the only gluten-free option they had at the time was fruit and, well, I was wasn’t in the mood to be healthy so I just had a cappuccino instead. On reflection, given my weight gain over the festive period, maybe it was a blessing in disguise that I didn’t have any dessert 😉

I will definitely be returning to Off the Wall!
