La Fromagerie (Marylebone)

I visited La Fromagerie in Marylebone on an off chance on a late Saturday afternoon as I was walking by with a friend. In the last few years, I have come to love and appreciate cheese and the cheese room at La Fromagerie could possibly make adults go nutty like children do in a candy store! There are two branches of La Fromagerie in London with the second being in Highbury.

My friend and I sat in the back cafe area and ordered a French cheese platter (which consisted of 5 cheeses, crackers (not gluten-free) and raisins) and a glass of the recommended red wine for that platter. The cheeses were lovely and the wine went really well together.

One of the friendly waitresses was able to convince us to try the gluten-free orange and polenta cake they had available (well, she didn’t have to try very hard). She explained that they also usually did a flourless chocolate cake but they had already run of that (maybe next time!).

Here are some pictures I took of the cheese shop inside and outside, however, they are not very good shots unfortunately as it was dark-ish and was taken on a blackberry camera. Nonetheless, you can see they really do have an extensive shop. It is certainly the place to go if you need an obscure type of cheese!
