I visited Kipferl in Camden Walk in Angel for brunch one Sunday morning. It a an Austrian themed cafe and with the wood in the cafe fit out it almost seems like you are in a chalet somewhere in the alps.

The cafe was packed and there was a line up when we arrived – lucky we had a reservation and our table was waiting for us. The menu is Austrian themed and unfortunately is very heavy with sausages (not gluten-free) and rye bread. Pretty much the only item on the menu I would eat that didn’t contain gluten was the cheese omelette which I ordered. I also had a side mixed salad. I was a little disappointed that notwithstanding mentioning my allergy to gluten, the omelette still arrived with rye bread on the plate.

After brunch I treated myself to a gluten-free chocolate and espresso cake which was quite moist and yummy.

Although the cafe was nice, it really isn’t gluten-free friendly, thought it would be work it to pop in for a coffee and piece of gluten-free cake.
