Galvin La Chapelle

I was lucky enough to have my last work lunch of 2011 and the first work lunch of 2012 at Galvin La Chapelle. The restaurant interior is really special and the service is exceptional, however, given that the restaurant has a Michelin star these are things that you would expect of a restaurant of this calibre.

The restaurant caters well for those on a gluten-free diet and they even have (get this!) gluten-free bread on offer! For both lunches I had as an entree the Jerusalem artichoke velouté and for the main Crisp fillet of sea bream, parsnips, samphire & red wine jus. I can’t quite remember what I had for dessert the first time but for dessert the second time I had the iced praline parfait & honey roasted bananas.

All I can say is that it was all absolutely delicious! On both these occasions I ate from the prix-fix menu (which is a very reasonable lunch menu), I have previously eaten from the a la carte menu and the dishes on the prix-fix menu are of the same yummy standard as the a la carte menu.

I will definitely be going back to Galvin La Chapelle.
