Busy weekend in the kitchen

Given Christmas is on our doorstep, I thought I’d try my hand at making gifts for people this year (work colleagues and neighbours). This basically meant I took over the kitchen from Friday night to Sunday night.

I’ve been eating a lot of soup lately and thought that it would be better (cheaper and I would know all the ingredients were fresh) if I made a few batches for work next week. On the menu was French onion soup, creamy butternut squash soup and Turkish red lentil soup. So Friday night turned into soup night! See the recipe section on the website for the recipes if you are interested. Here is a picture of the finished products!

Saturday was gluten-free baked goods day. After running around in the morning running errands (which included a trip to Jane Asher to get supplies), on the menu was banana bread, ANZAC biscuits and chocolate brownies. See below for a few pics.

Then Sunday, was ‘getting the homemade gifts’ day. All I had the energy to make was hazelnut chocolate fudge and chocolate dipped peppermint creams.  See below for the final products. Ok, I’m ready for a relaxing weekend now 😉
